Peter is the perfect tour guide. He pointed interesting facts about Newport’s history, as well as giving us a great overview tour of the beautiful area. Peter also has a wonderful sense of humor. It was a very enjoyable tour

If you are looking to understand the long-standing, unique history of this area, be sure to book this tour. Peter is a lifelong resident and supplies many details, while also taking you to less-known areas in the town. All without dealing with traffic or parking, time for both of us to just take in the sights. We finished with a list of places to return to as well as a new appreciation for Rhode Island. He serves the town well. Definitely worth the investment of money and time. Thank you

On 10/17/19 at approximately 12:30PM our cruise ship captain notified us that our ship would not be able to make port in Newport, RI, because of high seas and gale force winds. Our tour was scheduled for 11AM the next morning on 10/18/19, so my calls to this tour operator were placed at 22 hours prior to the scheduled tour. The weather and the timing were out of my control, and yes, I was slightly less than the 24 hour minimum on the cancellation policy, but I was very disappointed that Native Newporter Tours declined my request for a refund of $110. Considering the weather, I very much doubt that he would have been able to book someone else for a walking tour on that day, and I believe that most tour operators given these circumstances would have refunded my purchase price. In addition, I have called several times, hoping to discuss this with Peter, but he as chosen not to return my phone calls.

We enjoyed the history and the guide made the tour fun. Very enjoyable. We could have used 15 more minutes at the mansion, but we were able to get back to the bus in time with no visit to the gift shop.

Lack of communication despite several days trying to book a tour via phone and text was a precursor to the ultimate shun when Peter failed to appear at 8:50 where he told us to be. Heavy rains and cold conditions, according to him, were reason to cancel the tour. Of course he never bothered to contact us and when I called him he said he didn't have me scheduled! Maybe he had a bad week, but we booked this tour based upon the many five star ratings and needless to say we're extremely disappointed. My only choice was one star... it would have been a Black Hole if I had the option.

We really enjoyed this overview of Newport. As a native to Newport, Peter really knows the city and it's history. He was flexible and accommodating, stopping wherever we asked, offering up bits of history and culture at every point of interest (and some pretty obscure spots too!) His vehicle was clean and comfortable and he is also a good safe driver.

What a great tour of Newport! Tour began with Peter picking me up at my hotel, Gurney's Resort. Peter is a Newport native and is so knowledgeable about the history and culture of the city. He showed me all the best sights and places I would have otherwise missed. There were plenty of photo opportunities. Highly recommend Peter's private tour!

Peter was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the area. Also very accommodating as we had plans change in the last minute and he was able to get us in for a tour when we asked. Highly recommended to take this tour before you make plans around Newport RI. Peter gave great recommendations for places to visit and eat. Thanks for the Brick Alley Pub tip for the best clam chowder around!!
