Our semi-private lessons are limited to 3 students to every instructor. We teach at Thalia St, Laguna's best location for beginner waves. Our 2 hour lessons allow you ample time to learn paddle out, wave judgment, etiquette, and pop-up techniques. Our instructors are experienced professionals who pride themselves on getting you up, and keeping you safe. We have a very
high ratio of students standing up the first time, and launching into a lifetime of passion for surfing and surf culture. **We are the ONLY surf school in Laguna Beach with - Dedicated Parking, Bathroom/Dressing Room, and a Warm Shower!

Best afternoon. Instructors were fantastic! Got up on a bunch of waves beautiful beach! Great area to spend the entire day. 2 hours perfect amount of time in the water for a beginner.

There is nobody, and I mean nobody as professional and knowledgeable as Jaeson. Do yourself a favor when visiting Laguna Beach and spend a couple of delightful hours learning to surf like a pro.

My son (20) had a total blast on the water with Shane. This was my son’s first surf lesson but thanks to Shane’s patience and instructions, he was able to catch several waves. It was exciting for me too, though as mom had to keep a low profile. Still managed some nice photos to commemorate the occasion. Thank you Shane!

I booked lessons for my boyfriend and I and our instructor was Hunter! He was super chill and motivating and not once did he give up on us. He gave feedback every time for us to fix what we needed to and reminded us to just relax and have fun. I ended up catching a few waves it was so dope! What an unforgettable experience, would highly recommend!

Today I finally lived out my goal and dream of learning how to surf and IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! Fady was my AMAZINGGG instructor and got me surfing instantly (something I thought was so far fetched). He made it so easy and held such encouraging energy the whole time. They really know what they are doing here. Equipment and location was great too. If you really want to learn how to surf and see immediate success this is the place to start.

The first thing you notice about Jason is the pride and professionalism, adapting the difficulty to your skill and evolution. Extremely patient and really makes the lesson individual even in a group. Turns the beach and ocean into his office. Get inspired by the groundbreaking and inspirational Jason “the Duke Kahanamoku” at La Vida Laguna. Now I understand what Lt. Col. William Kilgore meant with his famous line in Apocalypse Now, spoken by Robert Duval, as justification for taking a beach at Mekong so the GI’s could go surfing..”Charlie don’t surf”

I took mother/daughter surf lessons with my twelve year old daughter. I can’t say enough nice things about my experience with La Vida Laguna. Our instructor was very experienced and kind. He kept my daughter safe and made sure she had a great time. And she learned how to surf! By the end of the two hours, she was standing up all the way to the shore. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great experience!

We booked a private surf lesson for our nephew who was trying surfing for the first time. We made our reservation over the phone with Doug who helped us decide a private lesson was the best option. Instruction, wet suit and board all in one fee. Hunter conducted the lesson in a very easy going style that helped bring success with the first waves. Our nephew is a good athlete who really enjoyed Hunter's coaching. Hunter introduced new topics at the right pace so he could practice and build confidence in his skills. The lesson was a positive experience and a great day of vacation for the family. Hunter has recruited a new enthusiast for the sport of surfing! We recommend La Vida Laguna!

Had the most amazing time! Doug and his team at Lavida Laguna gave this beginner from Dallas an excellent time! And Fady was the perfect instructor, put me right at ease, and helped me catch several great waves. Definitely would take more lessons from him if I lived in Laguna Beach. I found this place based on the reviews about the friendly staff and the great lessons, and they were spot on! Won’t forget it and highly recommend!
